I can’t think of a better way to start off the week than with these super simple, healthier, BUTTERFINGERS! I made a version of these a few years ago using dried mulberries instead of cereal for the filler, which works well too. Also, you can use a different nut butter but the flavor won’t be as authentic.
INGREDIENTS:
1/2 cup maple syrup
1 tsp molasses
1 cup peanut butter
2-3 cups flakes cereal (I used One Degree Organic Foods)
3 chocolate bars of choice (I used Evolved Chocolate)
Celtic sea salt
DIRECTIONS:
Heat syrup & molasses over low heat until bubbling
Add to a bowl with nut butter & cereal
Stir well, crushing the cereal into little pieces
Separately, melt about 3 bars of chocolate over low heat
Line a 9×3 pan with parchment paper; add a layer of the butterfinger filler
Pour chocolate on top
Sprinkle with salt and freeze
